The drive from Vancouver to the Village Esk'et is about 8 hours. If you prefer, Air Canada runs regular flights between Vancouver (YVR) and Williams Lake (YWL). Contact them for schedules, availability and prices.
Driving Directions
From Vancouver:
- Get onto Highway 1 (TransCanada Highway)
- At the city of Hope the road turns North, stay on Highway 1
- At the city of Cache Creek, go North on Highway 97
- Once you reach Williams Lake, take a Left on Highway 20
- As you approach the outskirts of town, take a Left onto Dog Creek Road
- Drive about 50 km on Dog Creek Road, about halfway down, the road will be unpaved. This should take you about 45 minutes.
- The sign for the Esk'et village will be on your right
From the Williams Lake Airport (YWL):
- Take Highway 20 South
- As you approach the outskirts of town, take a Left onto Dog Creek Road
- Drive about 50 km on Dog Creek Road, about halfway down, the road will be unpaved. This should take you about 45 minutes.
- The sign for the Esk'et village will be on your right
