Tepee's

While they were primarily used by the tribes in the Prairies, we know that Tepees are an easily recognizable symbol of native culture, and have multiple tepees set up at the village. There are three different sizes of tepees: a small size (holds 2-4 people), a family size (holds 4-6 people) and a community size (holds 8-12 people). Both the small and family sized tepees are viewable to the public.

Easy to set up and transport, the tepees are an ideal accommodations for mobile tribe equipped with horses. The tepees are usually decorated with pictures of the animal protector (spirit guide) of the family. A fire can be lit in the middle since the smoke can escape through the top of the tepee. They are available for storytelling or eating meals.

There is a teepee at the village that is available for overnight use. See the accommodations page for more information.
